For decades, Lyne has elected the same kind of representative to Canberra. Since 1949, the seat has had six members—five from the National Party and one who left the party to run as an Independent. As National Party MPs, they were bound to vote along party lines—not necessarily in Lyne’s best interests. Time and again, party priorities have come before the needs of our community.
