“This campaign is all about listening and the people of Lyne are saying loud and clear, they want local solutions - it’s time we put their interests first,” said Jeremy Miller. The survey revealed overwhelming support for local energy systems that can boost both sustainability and job creation. “A staggering 98% of respondents want to set up local energy systems that keep money within our neighbourhoods and create good, sustainable jobs. This is exactly the kind of future we should be building together,” said Jeremy Miller. The survey also highlighted a need for better access to information on energy options. “92% expressed support for a government-backed Energy Hub in Lyne to help people better understand the different energy sources available to them. We need to make it easier for families and farmers to access information about cleaner, more affordable energy solutions,” Miller continued. “Ninety eight percent believe taxpayer dollars should be used to fund clean energy projects, not continue subsidizing coal and gas companies. “It's time to invest in affordable, renewable energy that empowers our local communities," said Miller. Climate change remains a significant concern. 96% of respondents stated that Lyne is not doing enough to build resilience against its impacts. A new Climate Council report shows that 10% of homes in Lyne will become uninsurable due to rising climate risks, with 65% of residents worried about losing access to insurance. "The time for action is now." “Lyne needs to become more resilient to climate change, and we can’t afford to wait any longer. We must take immediate steps to protect our communities from the growing risks of climate change,” Jeremy Miller concluded. "I am here listening to the community and I am committed to taking bold steps for a cleaner, more resilient future. Together, we can create a Lyne that thrives, no matter what the future holds," said Miller
