The momentum is building in Lyne
Our campaign is gaining incredible momentum, and it's all thanks to you.
Here's what is happening right now in the campaign:
- The $10,000 challenge was a success, leading to $20,000 being donated after our ‘dollar for dollar’ matching challenge set by a local business owner. Thank you everyone who donated.
-
Yard signs have gone up in Lorn, Bolwarra, Bolwarra Heights, Largs, Tocal, Vacy, Martins Ck, Wallarobba, Dungog, Forster, Tuncurry, Hallidays Point, Taree, Laurieton, Coomba Park and every day we see a new one popping up - send us your pics.
- Television ads started across the 7 Network, channel TEN and NBN
- Billboards and Newspapers are filling up with the colour Orange as Media coverage in the Manning River Times, News of The Area, Forster Fortnightly and the Great Lakes Advocate feature the Jeremy Miller Independent for Lyne campaign.
The major parties and members of the community are noticing and we see trolls posting on social media - we ask that you don’t engage in this behaviour - it is not how we conduct business. We know people are ready for a representative who'll show up and get things done for our community in a respectful manner and that looks like an Independent voice, representative of the people of Lyne .
Here's how you can help keep our momentum growing:
Come to an event bring two people with you who want to find out more at the Q&A sessions and casual catch ups at our favourite local spaces.
Meet the candidate gatherings are underway with Dungog and Tea Gardens hosting packed out events in the heart of town this week.
I am thrilled to say over 40 locals gathered at the Royal Hotel, Dungog for a Q&A and to share their thoughts on the most important issues of the community. I spoke a little about my own life and reinforced that my only loyalty is to our community. I'll work with anyone who helps our region and stand up to anyone who doesn't.
The room was decked out with Corflutes and Banners, Local Leader Elizabeth Raine and worked tirelessly arranging a great event with Janice Atkin as the MC for the evening. Former Dungog Shire Mayor Tracey Norman spoke enthusiastically about what an Independent could bring to federal parliament. David Smith and Libby Doolan made sure everyone who attended was invited to sign up as a supporter. In the audience were Dungog Shire Councillors, including the current Mayor of Dungog, Digby Rayward.
Tea Gardens followed with passionate locals asking important questions. We discussed the very real challenges of securing affordable housing, finding solutions for a cleaner future, and building the infrastructure our community deserves. But we didn’t stop there.
We talked about integrity in politics, federal government applications, and what it means to have leadership we can trust. This is just the beginning – the conversation continues, and your voice matters!”
Both these events offer a fine model for how “Meet the Candidate” events in other parts of the electorate could run. Every week I meet the community, there are events listed ont he website and if you don’t see your town - LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN.
How to Host a Jeremy4Lyne Friendraiser
A "friendraiser" is a relaxed gathering where you invite 15-20 friends to meet up, hear about how Lyne can get a better deal, and connect with our community campaign. It's a chance to engage people in our movement, have fun, deepen our connections and support the campaign so more people can learn about the Jeremy Miller 4 Lyne campaign and know there is a real choice this election to vote Independent!
